This beginning-level workshop is for facility energy managers or others new to the field of lighting. Attendees will learn about three basic areas of lighting: sources, surfaces, and people. By studying the basics of lighting, participants will better understand how to apply these principles for energy savings. Topics include how light is generated and distributed; how light is transmitted, absorbed, reflected, and measured; and how light and color, are perceived and processed. (4 AIA HSW Learning Units)
