The purpose of this program is to improve the energy efficiency in the transportation, delivery, and utilization of agricultural water provided by irrigation districts. Until the infrastructure of the irrigation districts are adequately addressed, most sophisticated on-farm irrigation technologies such as precise irrigation scheduling, fertigation, and automated irrigation systems will not be widely adopted by farmers. This project will research and help develop and implement certain technologies to improve water-use efficiency.
