Project Summary:

There are a variety of emerging technologies that have potential to save substantial energy and demand in the lodging industry. Some of these are targeted specifically to the hotel and motel markets, while others may have applications in multiple market segments. The nearest term opportunities for energy savings appear to be in HVAC controls, both for guestrooms and common areas, such as conference rooms and restaurants, and ozonation for laundry facilities The specific objectives of this project were to identify a portfolio of energy efficiency technologies that can be offered to PG&E hotel customers and identify ways to accelerate energy and demand savings through implementation of these technologies.
