This project evaluates the demand response effectiveness of a demand control lighting (DCL) system during peak use periods. The DCL system was installed at a retail hardware store to verify the technology capabilities and to test it in real world conditions. This demand response technology can be controlled either locally by the customer or by the utility through the Internet. The internet-gateway software allows an authorized user to change the lighting level from 100% to 50% in 1% increments.
