The objective of this multi-phase project is to identify and demonstrate battery energy storage (BES) and communications technologies that enable small to mid-sized industrial and commercial customers to implement demand response (DR) strategies and thus increase their participation in SCE DR programs. This phase of the project is a continuation of Phase I (DR 07.09 DR Strategies Using External Connectivity For Battery Charging Systems In Commercial Buildings Phase I: Whole Building Load Profiles) and consists of collecting and processing whole building and HVAC power data at originally selected customer test sites. Customers were identified in different market segments and climate zones and they all had a peak demand of between 20 kW to 200 kW.
