Southern California Edison’s (SCE) Emerging Technology Program assesses products that have the potential to reduce electric energy use. One class of emerging technology are mo-tion-sensor coupled bi-level garage (known also as canopy) lights that use light emitting diodes (LEDs); a new application of evolving LED technology whose potential energy savings have not been quantified to date. The purpose of this project is to evaluate the amount of illumination delivered and the potential energy savings attributable to these LED lighting fixtures.
