In California, energy efficiency starts at the top. Governor Schwarzenegger has signed into law the Governor’s Green Building Initiative, an aggressive measure which requires that all state-owned buildings – from prisons to the State Capitol – become 20 percent more energy efficient by 2015. Emerging Technologies is finding and testing innovative solutions that help our state meet this challenging goal, including automatic demand response alert programs, variable air volume heating and cooling systems, and computer network power save software.
