Advanced Energy a Huge Economic Force; Efficiency is Main Driver in U.S.

New research from AEE and Navigant estimates the US advanced energy economy accounted for a staggering $200 billion in 2016--roughly equal to pharmaceutical manufacturing and not far behind the entire consumer electronics sector. What’s more, energy efficiency made up the largest portion of that $200 billion pie with a $68.8 billion market share—that’s 4 times the budget of NASA! The report authors also point out that the economy around energy efficiency is growing at a robust 9% annual rate—far outpacing growth in the wider economy. For those interested in energy efficiency, this report paints a rosy industry picture and should make for interesting bedtime reading.
