California Energy Commission releases several new grant funding opportunities

The CEC has recently opened up several new opportunities to pursue grant funding within the emerging technology and clean energy sectors. They include:

GFO-17-302, Demonstrate Business Case for Advanced Microgrids in Support of California's Energy and GHG Policies - The purpose of this solicitation is to fund technology demonstration and deployment (TD&D) projects that meet S14 Strategic Objective - Take Microgrids to the Next Level: Maximize the Value to Customers as defined in the 2015-2017 Triennial Electric Program Investment Charge (EPIC) Investment Plan. GFO-17-501, Improving Natural Gas Energy Efficiency, Waste Heat-to-Power, and Near-Zero Emission Distributed Generation Systems - The purpose of this solicitation is to fund industrial energy efficiency and renewable energy and advanced generation research projects that focus on reducing natural gas use. GFO-17-301, Increasing Adoption of Emerging Clean Energy Technologies through Procurement - The purpose of this solicitation is to develop and scale-up new tools and resources to increase customer procurement of distributed energy resources (DER), including energy efficiency, renewable distributed generation, and distributed storage. There are pre-application workshops offered for some of these grants over the coming days and application deadlines for all three are in October.
