California Energy Commission Seeking Input for EPIC ZNE Buildings and Communities RD&D Focus Areas

The California Energy Commission is seeking input on potential research areas that will help California achieve policy goals related to Zero Net Energy (ZNE) buildings. Input will help the Energy Commission better target research for upcoming solicitations funded by the Electric Program Investment Charge (EPIC), an electricity ratepayer surcharge established by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) in December 2011.

The purpose of the EPIC program is to benefit ratepayers by funding clean energy technology projects that promote greater electricity reliability, lower costs, and increased safety. In addition to providing ratepayer benefits, funded projects must lead to technological advancement and breakthroughs to overcome the barriers that prevent the achievement of the state's statutory energy goals.

Please answer the questions in the document "Request for Input for EPIC ZNE Buildings", posted at the link below. Comments are due August 13th.
