Benchmarking of California Buildings

Project Number ET 06.15 Organization SCE End-use Other Sector Other Project Year(s) 2006 - 2009
Description

Recognizing the benefits of benchmarking, the Executive Order (EO) S-20-04 requires all state-owned buildings to be benchmarked with support of the utilities. Because of the requirements of the EO S-20-04, this project was initiated. The main goals for this project are to:

  • Develop software that gathers billing data from participating customers in SCE’s Customer Data Base (CDB) or Customer Service System (CSS), upload the data to EPA PM, and retrieve ratings.
  • Evaluate the value of the EPA PM, an indicator of building energy performance.
  • Provide a recommended approach for integrating benchmarking into energy efficiency programs.
