This purpose of this project was to develop portable, high-efficiency, indirect torchiere fixtures that would use one of the next generation high-efficacy electrodeless or electroded fluorescent lamps. These fixtures are targeted at the commercial office interiors where there is a demand for high color quality and low-glare portable lighting. This proposed effort was a first step in the develop-ment and demonstration of new office torchiere lighting systems. Wide adoption of the technology developed in this project would significantly increase the penetration of high-efficiency fixtures in commercial interiors.
