Description

Southern California Edison’s Codes & Standards Planning and Coordination (P&C) program presents their 2025 achievements and progress on key initiatives. The P&C program’s focus areas are energy-efficient building decarbonization, grid harmonization, and code harmonization. The P&C 2025 key initiatives include refinement of the BIG Database and refinement of DER propensity modeling along with analyzing major projects in the CEQA database to identify key opportunities for decarbonization within SCE territory; support for the CEC on building performance standards, home energy labeling, and the MIDAS interface; continued contribution of subject matter expertise in ASHRAE, ICC, AHRI, CARB and South Coast AQMD proceedings and projects; identification of flexible demand potential and market barriers from load shifting of heat pump appliances and EV chargers; continued participation in and funding of EPRI Advanced Buildings and Communities projects; and continued leadership on building energy modeling and building prototype development through CalBEM.
