Description

This is the final project report for a study on industrial heat pump (IHP) applications conducted from 2024 to 2025 for the Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E) Code Readiness Program. This research project supports the development and implementation of California’s Building Energy Efficiency Standards Title 24, Part 6 (Title 24) by reviewing the current state of industrial heat pump (IHP) deployments in California and North America, assessing the economics of IHPs in California, and identifying heat pump performance test procedures that may need modification to accommodate common IHP applications.
