Project Number ET11SDGE0018 Organization SDG&E End-use HVAC Sector Commercial Project Year(s) 2011 - 2012
Description

Project Summary

The goal of the project was to determine the energy savings potential provided by using automatic sash positioning system to retrofit manual fume hoods, in a building with existing VFD HVAC system. This assessment project validated that properly designed and programmed VFD circulating pumps can save motor and central plant cooling and heating energy consumption up to 1/2, consistent with tests done by other IOUs in the past. Many labs in SDGE area has no dehumidification or reheat.
