Indoor Horticulture Field Lighting BCD/CP&S Demonstration

SCE funded this study with the original intent of performing a field assessment at a grower site, where baseline High-Pressure Sodium (HPS) and new LED fixtures would be tested simultaneously.  Accordingly, SCE hired Cypress LTD to develop the Measurement and Verification (M&V) plan. Subsequently, SCE’s field engineering team would conduct the M&V activities, including installing a variety of sensors, to simultaneously establish a definitive baseline and normalize test case scenario conditions. However, M&V became impossible, because the Covid-19 pandemic impacted the onsite M&V procedures, sensor installation, and data collection, causing uncontrolled testing conditions, significant data gaps, and inconclusive results.
